Doonbeg is 285 kilometres from Dublin Airport — around three and a half hours by way of Limerick and Ennis, then out along the west Clare coast.
Almost every Doonbeg booking we take is a golf trip, and golf trips have a specific logistical shape: four players, four sets of clubs, four suitcases, and a tee sheet that does not move. The minivan takes seven passengers, but four golfers with full bags will fill it properly. If you are a group of six or eight, we run two vehicles in convoy rather than pretending it fits.
The south-west links circuit
Doonbeg rarely appears alone on an itinerary. The usual circuit is Lahinch (35 minutes north), Ballybunion (across the Shannon on the Killimer–Tarbert ferry), Tralee and Waterville, sometimes with Adare Manor or Dromoland at either end. We are very used to running these multi-day golf itineraries with the same driver throughout — clubs stay in the vehicle, nobody re-packs every morning. What the fare covers
€630 for up to 3 passengers, €680 for up to 7. Tolls, airport parking, flight monitoring and meet-and-greet included. Multi-day golf itineraries are quoted individually, and generally work out well below the sum of the separate legs.
