Dingle is our longest scheduled run — 342 kilometres, roughly four and a quarter hours including a stop. It is a long way, and the honest advice is that it is worth doing properly.
The route goes M7 to Limerick, then south-west through Castleisland and Tralee, and finally over the Conor Pass or around by Annascaul depending on weather and the size of the vehicle. The last hour is genuinely spectacular. It is also, for a driver who has just come off a plane and is sitting on the wrong side of the car, genuinely demanding.
Why people book this one privately
Public transport to Dingle from Dublin involves a train to Tralee and a connecting bus, and takes most of a day. A hire car means six hours of concentration on unfamiliar roads at the end of a flight. The private transfer costs more than either and removes the entire problem — which for a lot of our guests, particularly on anniversary and milestone trips, is exactly the point.
Slea Head and the peninsula
Once you are in Dingle the thing to do is the Slea Head Drive — a 47-kilometre loop past Dunquin pier, the Blasket Islands viewpoint, the Gallarus Oratory and beehive huts that have been standing for a thousand years. We can build this into the transfer as a private tour on arrival day, or run it as a separate day out. Ask on the quote form.
What the fare covers
€750 for up to 3 passengers, €820 for up to 7. Tolls, parking, flight tracking, meet-and-greet, and a comfort stop en route are included. Given the distance we ask for a little more notice on Dingle bookings than on shorter runs — a few days rather than a few hours where possible.
