A long-distance transfer is not a taxi ride that happens to be long. It is a different product, priced differently and run differently, and it is worth knowing how.
The fare is fixed before you travel
You are quoted a single figure for the journey, in writing, before you book. It does not move because the M50 is heavy, because your flight landed two hours late, or because you took longer than expected at baggage reclaim. There is no meter in the car.
Included in every fare:
- Motorway tolls across the whole route
- Airport car parking for the meet-and-greet
- Flight monitoring — we track your inbound flight number and adjust the pick-up automatically
- Up to 60 minutes of free waiting after your flight lands
- Meet and greet — your driver is inside the arrivals hall with a name board, not texting you from a car park
- Luggage handling
- Child seats, on request and at no charge
What is not included: admission tickets, meals, and any journey time beyond the agreed route. Journeys picked up between roughly 11 pm and 6 am may carry a night supplement — we quote it up front, never afterwards.
Where you are met
At Dublin Airport, your driver waits inside the arrivals hall of your terminal, past customs, with a board showing your name. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 have separate arrivals halls a few minutes apart; we know your terminal from your flight number, so you do not need to work it out.
If your flight is early, we are early. If it is delayed by four hours, we will be there when you land, and it costs you nothing extra. That is what flight monitoring is for.
What happens if something goes wrong
Bags lost at reclaim, a missed connection, a cancelled inbound — these happen, and they are exactly the situations where a fixed booking earns its money. Email us as soon as you know. We will re-time the pick-up if we can, and if the journey no longer makes sense we will tell you so rather than charging you for a car you cannot use.
Vehicles and capacity
Two classes, and the honest limits:
Saloon car — up to 3 passengers. Two large suitcases or three medium, plus cabin bags.
Minivan — up to 7 passengers. Seven large suitcases. But note: seven adults and seven large cases is at the limit. Four golfers with full bags will fill it properly.
If you are close to either boundary, say so at the quote stage. We would far rather send the right vehicle than have you rearranging luggage on a footpath at midnight. See the suitcase dimensions guide if you are unsure what counts as large.
Booking and paying
Everything starts with a quote request. Tell us the date, the pick-up, the destination, the number of passengers and bags, and your flight number if you have one. We reply by email with a fixed price and confirm availability.
Payment is by card or cash to the driver on the day, or by bank transfer in advance for corporate accounts. Cancellation is free — we would rather know than hold a slot for a journey that is not happening.
