The short answer: between €370 and €820 depending on where you are going and which vehicle you need. The full list is on our prices page, and every figure there is fixed — quoted before you book, unchanged on the day.
What drives the price
Distance, mostly. Waterford at 169 kilometres is €370; Dingle at 342 kilometres is €750. The relationship is close to linear, with an adjustment for how much of the route is motorway.
Vehicle class. A saloon car takes up to 3 passengers. A minivan takes up to 7 and costs roughly €40–70 more on the same route. That is per vehicle, not per person — which is the crucial point for groups.
Time of day. Pick-ups between roughly 11 pm and 6 am may carry a night supplement. We quote it in the original price rather than adding it later.
Per person, it looks different
A fixed fare is priced per car. Split it and the numbers change character:
- Galway, €460 for 3 people — €153 each
- Galway, €500 in the minivan for 6 — €83 each
- Killarney, €720 in the minivan for 7 — €103 each
For a couple, a private transfer is a genuine premium over the bus. For a family of four or a group of six, it is frequently the cheaper option once you have compared it against six coach seats or a rental car plus fuel, tolls, parking and insurance excess.
Why not just use the meter
Irish taxis are metered and regulated, and for city journeys that works well. Over 250 kilometres it does not: the metered fare on a long run comfortably exceeds a fixed transfer rate, and — more to the point — it is unknowable in advance. You cannot budget a trip around a number that depends on traffic on the M50.
Long-distance transfer rates are set below what the meter would produce. That is the whole business model.
What is included
Tolls, airport parking, flight monitoring, meet-and-greet with a name board inside arrivals, luggage handling, up to 60 minutes of free waiting after landing, and child seats on request. No booking fee, no fuel surcharge, no card surcharge.
Not included: attraction admissions, meals, and waiting time beyond the free hour on non-airport pick-ups.
